Background
Dr. Saralyn Williams graduated from Duke University School of Medicine and completed an internship in Internal Medicine at UNC Chapel Hills Hospitals. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency and Medical Toxicology fellowship at University of California, San Diego and remained on faculty at UCSD until 2006 when she joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Williams works both as an emergency medicine attending and a medical toxicologist, providing consultations for the Tennessee Poison Center and for the Vanderbilt Medical Center.. She is an Oral Board Examiner for American Board of Emergency Medicine and served on the Sub-Board for Medical Toxicology. Areas of interest include acute poisonings and envenomations. Dr Williams has won a number of teaching awards for her renowned didactic and bedside teaching rounds and recently received one of the prestigious Vanderbilt CREDO awards.
She enjoys spending time on the farm with her husband and two children.
