Dr Stephan Russ graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and began his residency in Emergency Medicine at Vanderbilt in 2003. He completed a chief resident year in 2006-07 and was honored with the Vanderbilt CANDLE award for exemplary teaching and mentoring by the medical students. He completed a two-year Quality Improvement fellowship funded through the Veteran's Administration and graduated with an MPH in June 2009. He is involved in the Division of International Medicine with a focus on systems improvement and social marketing. His academic interests include implementation science, medical decision making, informatics, and responding to ethanol emergencies. He splits his time between Emergency Medicine and Vanderbilt Hospital Administration.
