Dr. Ray is a native of Nashville and joined the faculty in 2022. She obtained her undergraduate degree at Duke University in Biosocial Health, and subsequently pursued her medical education at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Ray then went on to complete her Emergency Medicine residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. There, she served as Chief Resident and completed the Medical Education Clinical Scholars Program. After residency, she served as an Assistant Program Director at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She now serves as an Assistant Program Director at Vanderbilt, practicing in the main university ED as well as the VA. Her interests include competency based medical education, resident feedback and assessment, and mentorship of trainees. Outside of medicine, she loves being outdoors and spending time with her family and miniature dachshund Hank!
